Injection Guide

THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING us. The entire team at EMAA is honored to be at your service, and we hope your experience with us has been pleasing. If you have any questions about your medication, we are prepared to help in any way we can. We’re here for you.

Let’s get set up!

  1. Wash hands well with soap and water and gather your supplies on a clean surface:

Syringe

Alcohol

Vit Vial

Sharps Container (or heavy-duty plastic container with a tight lid such as an empty detergent bottle) To properly dispose of sharps visit: https://safeneedledisposal.org

2. Check the expiration date on the medication vial. Do not use a medication with visible particles, discolored, or expired medication.

3. Prepare the Injection:

  • Draw air into the syringe: Remove the syringe from the package and remove the protective cap from the needle. Hold the syringe upright, so that the needle faces the sky. Draw air into the syringe by pulling DOWN the plunger to the SAME DOSE you inject.

  • Draw the medication into a syringe: Holding the syringe with one hand and the vial with the other, turn the vial and syringe upside down. Do not let go of the vial or the needle may bend. Make sure that the needle tip is in the medication, pull DOWN the plunger PAST your prescribed dose, then slowly push the plunger BACK UP to your dose. This helps remove air bubbles.

  • Check for air bubbles and recap syringe: If you see air bubbles, slowly draw more medication into the syringe, then slowly push the air bubbles and the extra medication back into the vial until you are at the correct dose. Pull the needle out of the vial and carefully place the protective cap back over the needle.

  • Inject air into the medication vial: Turn the syringe downward so the needle faces the floor. Insert the needle through the circle in the center of the rubber stopper. Push the plunger DOWN to inject the air into the vial.

  • Prepare the medication vial: If using it for the first time, remove and discard the plastic cap. Using one alcohol pad, wipe the top of the vial – do this each time you use your medication.

4. Prepare the Injection site if IM or Subcutaneous (See Pictures)

Home Kit Includes:

  • 30 Day supply of Vitamin

  • Syringes

  • Alcohol Pads

  • Online Medical Provider Consultation
